At the end of the second year I was interested in Retail Graphics and Print. I was looking to do a placement somewhere in each of these areas. I was successful in finding one at a printers called Target Print. Here I learnt how to send artwork through to be proofed and then to the plate machines. I did some design work here and learnt to always produce more than one idea for a client so they have got a choice even though they will probably choose the one that looks the most normal. Working fast is a good thing as it enables you to keep to strict deadlines and make more money for yourself or the company.
I contacted a Retail Graphics company which were busy over the summer but said I can go for a placement towards the end of the year which is something I am going to follow them up on. I have done some freelance work over the summer aswell which is something I am going to try and keep doing throughout the third year to help build up my portfolio.
